Curriculum & Class Description

As you browse our classes (click on the schedule to enlarge) and find the curriculum that best suits you and your child's needs, it is advised that you contact the studio (phone or email) to ensure availability or to explore other class options. Some classes develop waitlists throughout the year and it is imperative that each student is properly enrolled prior to attending dance class. This way Main Street Dance Theatre may inform each instructor about the arrival of a new classmate and we can be certain that all dancers have the appropriate attire and are ready to dance. This ensures a positive first experience for all.
We accept new dancers of any age from September to January 31st for our academic year. As of February 1st, all current students will begin preparing for Spring Recital choreography and continue strengthening their established technique. The Academic program ends with the Spring Recital. From February 1st to May 31st we accept adult drop ins and the 6 week sessions for the 2/3 year old toddler dance. During the Spring months we enroll students for our Summer program and also begin taking early bird registration for the following academic dance year.
If your dancer is interested in attending multiple dance classes throughout the week, follow the guidelines below. The guidelines will help identify the various dance technique classes (styles) frequently attended as the dancer matures throughout their career at MSDT. We have listed below some scenarios and suggested classes per each age range: keep in mind that final class placement will be determined by the instructors, based on the dancer's ability. MSDT staff will assist in the fine tuning of the process for families. All Dancers may enroll in any number of classes per week, as long as they fall within the age requirements and attend on their registered day. Drop in classes for adults are available and can be taken with any age level appropriate to skill level. We also have a company class on Saturday mornings, (inquire with the office for this BSDE Co. program).
