Classical Meets Contemporary Poster

Main Street Dance Theatre and Big Sky Dance Ensemble invite all patrons of the dance and theatre arts to our most affordable performance of the year. This new addition to our annual performance season is our Spring Gala "Classical meets Contemporary." The traditional classical ballet and contemporary choreography selected for the gala is captivating enough to hold the attention of young children and is intelligent enough to inspire teens to adults.

The spring gala is an excellent opportunity for dancers to partake and learn about a variety of traditional classical ballets including the style of the era, the composers and choreographer, and the history of the ballet. Modern and Contemporary choreography are also added to expand the repertoire of the performing student.

To date students have performed the full length ballets Paquita and Les Sylphide.

Our repertoire varies each season so stay tuned for casting opportunities for all ages and abilities.

The Spring Gala is held in April at the Emerson Cultural Center. Tickets cost $10 and are general admission; they may be purchased at the Main Street Dance Theatre studio offices. 587-7192
